Important software processes are usually placed on independent workstations, with several options provided by copying the configuration. This allows for unavailability of equipment during maintenance and in case of workstation abnormalities. The workstation can be remotely installed in a secure enclosure and/or through the use of a remote control to install spatial graphics units for operator interface devices. The H92 EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS standard workstation can be used for DCS control core service software and DCS control software, and can also be used for Foxboro, third-party, and user written applications. As a multi-purpose workstation running the Windows 10 64 bit operating system, the H92 workstation supports the execution of system applications, extensive data communication applications, file service functions, and graphics and text. It is also connected to the company network locally or globally. The workstation supports a mouse or optional trackball, alphanumeric keyboard, up to four USB signal or signal/numeric keyboard, and one to four monitors. The H92 workstation also supports an optional USB screen (purchased separately from the display) and an optional USB speaker kit (purchased separately). The workstation is equipped with up to three internal ATA hard drives
The actuator may be configured as RAID1 and equipped with 8GB of ECC RAM memory (expandable to 16GB). The processor supports built-in DVD+RW drives. Client/server communication is accomplished using the TCP/IP network protocol through an integrated Ethernet port or optional Ethernet interface card (network card).
